How To Behave So Your Children Will, Too! by Sal Severe is a collection of practical suggestions and advice for parents who are dealing with discipline problems at home. This book is a handy reference tool and provides excellent motivation for those who feel the need to improve their parenting and discipline skills. It makes a great gift too.

Sal Sever background is working with behavor disordered children - including children with emotional problems, learning disabilities and attention deficits. How To Behave So Your Children Will, Too! is a collection of parents' stories, ideas and solutions from parenting workshops to over 12,000 people. Any parent with a child from 1 year old to teenage who needs suggestions on discipline would benefit from Sal Sever's advice.

The central thesis of Sal Severe's book is to change your behavior by increasing your consistency and follow through. He gives you tools to use in implementing a behavior management plan; the foremost part being to think carefully about your interactions with your children and to implement a consistent response of cause and effect. Many of the ideas will be familiar to parents who deal with behavior issues. What is especially helpful about this book is its logical presentation and the number of practical ideas and the empowerment that the book provides. It is helpful to read a book that accepts that sometimes parenting can be a tough but important job, and provides advice without assigning an overwhelming amount of blame to the child or parent.
